Chiem Quoc Thai property dispute: Court awards 743 million VND

The People's Court of Area 2 has issued a ruling regarding a significant property dispute between Vu Thuy Hong Ngoc and Chiem Quoc Thai, the Director of Viet My Aesthetic Hospital.

Ms. Ngoc had initially requested a division of shared assets totaling over 454.8 billion VND. However, the court only granted her more than 743.3 million VND, representing her contribution ratio for two apartments. The court rejected her claims for hundreds of billions in other assets due to a lack of supporting evidence.

Additionally, the court partially accepted a counterclaim by Mr. Thai, ordering Ms. Ngoc to repay him approximately 301,904 USD (roughly 7.9 billion VND). The legal history between the two involves a marriage registered in the US in 2011, which was later declared void by a US court in 2018 on the grounds of being a sham marriage. The dispute centers on assets allegedly accumulated during their period of cohabitation and business cooperation from 2007 to 2018.
