Chieri, Italy: Man arrested for torture following 12-hour assault

A man has been arrested in Chieri, near Turin, on charges of torture after a woman was subjected to 12 hours of physical and psychological abuse. The incident, which occurred on October 3, reportedly began as a consensual erotic bondage session but escalated into extreme violence after the victim revoked her consent.

Medical staff at Chieri Hospital discovered the woman with plastic zip ties still tightened around her wrists and ankles, along with facial trauma, widespread bodily injuries, and signs of strangulation. The victim managed to contact emergency services to report the assault and repeated sexual violence.

Carabinieri officers arrived at the couple's residence and found the man in a state consistent with drug use. During a search of the home, authorities seized a homemade taser constructed from a modified electric mosquito racket and a gas pistol used to inflict pain. The suspect has been placed in pretrial detention.
