Chiesi Group appoints David Khougazian as new CEO

Chiesi Group has appointed David Khougazian as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 15. Khougazian, an engineer with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences, succeeds Jean-Marc Bellemin, who has served as interim CEO since May 2026 and will remain the Group's Chief Financial Officer.

Khougazian joins Chiesi from Flagship Pioneering, where he served as Executive Partner, Growth, and Head of Global Engagement. His mandate focuses on strengthening the Group's innovation capabilities, developing its product pipeline, and fostering strategic partnerships to create long-term value for patients and healthcare systems.

Based in Parma, Italy, Chiesi employs over 7,900 people and operates 31 commercial branches worldwide. The company maintains a significant research and development presence with hubs in Italy, France, the United States, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. In the first half of 2026, the company allocated 426 million euros to R&D, representing 22.5% of its revenue.
