Chieti councilor warns of marginalization amid Nuova Pescara project delay

Cristiano Sicari, a councilor from Chieti, has called for a constructive debate regarding the “Nuova Pescara” project. Following a delay in the procedure for the metropolitan area involving Pescara, Montesilvano, and Spoltore, Sicari warned that Chieti risks becoming marginalized if it does not actively participate in the evolving urban and infrastructural landscape.

Sicari described the Pescara initiative as an “hegemonic project” aimed at increasing demographic and political influence within the region. He emphasized that the current delay provides a necessary window for Chieti to define its role and ensure it benefits from future regional infrastructure and development.
