Chieti mayor calls for urgent meeting over night water supply cuts

Mayor Giovanni Legnini of Chieti asked the regional water utility ACA for an urgent meeting after night‑time interruptions of water supply affected the districts of Chieti Scalo and Brecciarola. Legnini said the city needs clear information to share with residents and a permanent solution, especially as high temperatures are worsening the inconvenience. ACA responded quickly and scheduled an appointment for the same day.

The water issue adds to a set of municipal challenges, including hydrogeological instability, the city's financial strain, and an upcoming assembly of mayors of ASL 2. Legnini also indicated he will seek a meeting with regional president Marco Marsilio to discuss broader emergencies, such as the planned lay‑off of 80 health‑service workers that could further strain local services.
