Chieti municipal employees mobilize over denied salary increases
Labor unions CGIL, CISL, and UIL have called for an assembly on October 30 to inform municipal employees in Chieti about legal and union initiatives regarding denied 2025 economic progressions. The dispute affects 133 employees out of a staff of 180.
Following a tense meeting at the Prefecture, Mayor Francesco Menna has expressed a willingness to find a solution to protect workers' rights. Menna has requested that four municipal managers step in to facilitate a new selection call. This new process is intended to respect the general criteria, scores, and resources previously negotiated in the decentralized integrative collective agreement.
The Mayor also noted that decentralized bargaining for 2026 must be finalized within the current year to prevent employees from losing additional bonuses.
