Chiharu Shida draws crowds at Aomori Kokuspo badminton event

Olympic badminton medalist Chiharu Shida competed in the Aomori Kokuspo (National Sports Festival) as a member of the adult women's prefectural team. The event, held at Spocal Inn Kuroishi in Kuroishi City, drew large crowds of spectators, including junior players and local residents, leading to standing-room-only conditions near the courts.

Shida, an alumna of Aomori Yamada Junior and Senior High School and a 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medalist, competed alongside teammates Ririna Hiramoto and Mine Uchiumi. The team secured a victory in their first-round match against Kumamoto.
