Chihuahua and Veracruz municipalities launch major infrastructure upgrades
In the town of Satevó, Chihuahua, officials inaugurated a new sanitary landfill with an investment exceeding 9.3 million pesos. The project, a joint effort of the state government, the municipal authorities and mining companies First Majestic Silver Corp and DOWA, aims to improve solid‑waste management, public health and environmental protection. Local deputy Guillermo “Memo” Ramírez highlighted the benefit of coordinated public‑private action for community well‑being.
Meanwhile, the municipal administration of Ixhuatlán del Café, Veracruz, led by mayor Viridiana Bretón Feito, announced a plan to carry out 35 works through 2026, funded with roughly 40 million pesos from FAISMUN and Fortamun. The works focus on rebuilding and paving roads with concrete, installing public lighting and addressing drainage issues to enhance safety and basic services for residents.
