Chihuahua approves $150 million credit for Poniente 5 boulevard construction

The Commission of Programming, Budget and Public Treasury of the Chihuahua State Congress voted 6‑3 to approve a positive dictamen allowing the municipal government to request a long‑term simple credit of up to 150 million pesos. The loan will finance the first stage of the Boulevard Luis H. Álvarez (Poniente 5) in the western part of the city and must be repaid no later than September 2030, using the best market conditions from Mexican financial institutions.

The session was chaired by President Jorge Soto (PAN) and attended by members of the PRI, MC, Morena, PT and independents. The approval was part of a broader agenda that also included unanimous agreements on technical tables for university tax revenue allocation and other municipal finance reforms.
