Human skeletal remains discovered at construction site and desert neighborhood in Ciudad Juárez
A retroexcavator working near the Parajes de San José and Villas de Alcalá neighborhoods in Ciudad Juárez uncovered a human skeleton wearing military‑style trousers and black sports shoes. Authorities secured the scene, noted the area’s history of clandestine graves, and sent forensic teams to collect DNA samples for identification.
Separately, police in the Granjas del Desierto colonia located a decomposing skeleton at the intersection of Quinta and Cardencha streets. The body had a wire looped around the neck, a missing left limb, and damage attributed to local wildlife. Investigators are processing the site and will determine the victim’s identity and cause of death. If ruled violent, the case would be the 15th intentional homicide recorded in Ciudad Juárez for July.
