Chihuahua City prepares stage for Independence Day celebrations
Preparations are underway in Chihuahua City for the 216th anniversary of the Grito de Independencia. Workers have begun installing a 25-meter-high steel stage in the Plaza del Ángel to host musical performances on September 15.
The musical lineup features Ramón Ayala, known as the ‘Rey del Acordeón’, alongside Joss Favela, Narce Dalia, La Etiqueta, Charly Díaz y su Rebelión Norteña, Alex Ruiz, and the Concierto Sinfónico del Despecho. The festivities will also include a fireworks display.
To assist attendees, the Bowí transport service will be free from 7:00 PM on September 15 until 2:00 AM on September 16. For security reasons, several transit stations—Fuentes Danzarinas, Juárez, Catedral, Niños Héroes, and Trébol—will be closed. Authorities have also implemented strict access filters, prohibiting items such as weapons, glass containers, alcohol, lighters, and fireworks from entering the event area.
