Ciudad Juárez reports crime reduction and Bravos football ticket promotion

The Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) in Ciudad Juárez has reported a decrease in various crime indices. According to official reports, there has been a cumulative 64 percent reduction in homicides between 2020 and 2026. This trend is attributed to increased operational presence, institutional coordination, and the use of technological tools such as the ‘Juárez Vigilante’ surveillance platform and various monitoring systems.

Mayor Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel noted that crime indicators are trending downward, emphasizing a shift toward a preventive policing model. In August, the SSPM reported the seizure of 27 short firearms.

In sports news, the Bravos de Ciudad Juárez have announced a special promotion for their upcoming match against Pachuca on Friday, August 4. To encourage fan attendance during a difficult period in the season, tickets will be priced at 65.60 pesos, a symbolic price referencing the city's 656 area code. The club aims to use this initiative to strengthen the connection between players and supporters following five consecutive losses.
