Chihuahua Congress Urges Prioritization of Paving Projects in West Ciudad Juárez
The permanent delegation of the Congress of Chihuahua approved a proposal by Deputy Óscar Avitia Arellanes urging the mayor of Ciudad Juárez to give priority to paving, resurfacing, storm‑drain work and road rehabilitation in the city’s western sector. The request calls for the inclusion of priority streets in municipal public‑works programs and for coordination with state authorities to ensure continued investment.
Avitia highlighted that inadequate road infrastructure has long disadvantaged the western neighborhoods, affecting mobility, public health, safety and economic opportunities for thousands of residents. He noted recent progress in other parts of the border city but stressed the need for equitable distribution of infrastructure benefits.
The proposal seeks to improve living conditions and promote balanced urban development in the region.
