Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos Reports June 2026 as Lowest Homicide Month
State officials announced that June 2026 recorded the lowest number of intentional homicides since the current administration began in Chihuahua. The Mesa Estatal de Construcción de Paz, led by Governor Maru Campos, presented regional homicide reductions: Bocoyna‑Creel down 69 %, Madera 56 %, Guerrero 48 %, Parral 34 %, Ciudad Juárez 19 %, Cuauhtémoc 10 % and the Chihuahua region 7 %. The state prosecutor’s office reported the execution of 156 arrest warrants, 68 flagrant arrests, the judicialisation of 93 cases, the resolution of 163 files and 27 convictions, including a 600‑year prison sentence for three persons convicted of kidnapping migrants in Ciudad Juárez. Authorities also agreed to provide in‑person assistance to residents of the community of Cinco Llagas in the municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo to strengthen local security. Attendees included Governor Maru Campos, the state secretary of public security, military zone commanders, the state attorney general and representatives from federal, state and National Guard agencies.
