Baja California’s Digital Platform Named Finalist in International NovaGob Awards

The government of Baja California’s Ventanilla Digital was selected as one of twelve finalists for the NovaGob Excellence 2026 awards, an international competition that recognises the best public‑sector innovation projects across Ibero‑America. The initiative competes in the “Innovation in Digital Transformation” category alongside projects from Spain, Argentina and Colombia.

The platform, built on the in‑house BajaStack system and featuring the Llave BC digital identity solution with biometric verification, AI‑driven predictive tools and a multilingual citizen‑service model, has generated measurable benefits: an additional MX 477 million in tax collection, MX 60 million saved by eliminating external software licences, over 2.4 million visits, 644 000 digital vehicle‑registration cards issued in 2026, and a 70 percent cut in response times for citizens.

Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda highlighted the project as evidence of the state’s commitment to an inclusive, human‑centred digital government that reaches even the most remote communities.
