Chihuahua launches breast cancer prevention campaign
The Chihuahua Municipal Government, through the Municipal Institute of Women (IMM) and the Municipal Institute for Prevention and Attention to Health (IMPAS), is conducting awareness and prevention activities for breast cancer during October.
As part of these efforts, the municipality is offering free mammography vouchers for women aged 40 to 64, coordinated with the State Health Secretariat. To obtain a voucher, women must present a copy of their official identification and CURP at the Edificio Libertad. Those under 40 require a medical referral.
Additional activities include psychological support and the ‘Fluir en Rosa’ Dharma Yoga session at Jardín Altozano, which aims to raise funds for Grupo Reto Chihuahua, an organization supporting women facing the disease. Authorities emphasize the importance of recognizing warning signs—such as lumps, changes in breast size or shape, skin alterations, or unusual discharge—and urge women to prioritize regular medical check-ups.
