Chihuahua launches second public disability rights consultation for 2026

The state government of Chihuahua began the Second Public Consultation for Persons with Disability 2026, led by Deputy Herminia Gómez (Morena), president of the Human Rights and Vulnerable Groups Commission. The consultation will travel to Camargo, Cuauhtémoc, Parral, Juárez and Chihuahua city, presenting 41 legislative initiatives on inclusion, education, health, accessibility and justice. Participants will receive a booklet outlining the proposals.

Separately, the state’s MediChihuahua health program reported more than 160,000 pediatric medical attendances between January and May 2026, part of over 4.2 million services delivered since its launch in February 2024. The government also carried out an emergency air‑medical transfer of a two‑year‑old Rarámuri girl from Guachochi to a third‑level hospital in Chihuahua city. Health officials issued a heat‑wave warning, urging residents to stay hydrated, avoid sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and use protective clothing and sunscreen.
