Chihuahua launches semiconductor training scholarships with Arizona State University

The Chihuahua Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development, through the Institute for Technological Economic Development Support (INADET), has launched a call for the Strategic Semiconductor Training Scholarship. The program offers 20 scholarships, each valued at 6,000 USD, to support professionals in the manufacturing sector.

In collaboration with Arizona State University, the training focuses on ATP (Assembly, Test, and Packaging) co-design. The program includes virtual instruction and a three-day academic visit to Arizona State University, covering round-trip flights, lodging, and academic materials. The training is scheduled to run from September 2024 through January 2027.

This initiative aims to strengthen the local manufacturing ecosystem and meet the high demand for technical talent, particularly as Ciudad Juárez is responsible for manufacturing approximately 80 percent of the region's semiconductors. Applications are open until August 28.
