Chihuahua launches weekend mega waste container program

The municipal government of Chihuahua will operate a Mega Destilichadero in the Punta Oriente neighborhood on Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July, with the container open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and cleaning crews patrolling nearby streets to remove large‑size trash and prevent illegal dumping.

From 13 to 18 July, the Destilichadero service will be extended to six additional colonies. A fixed container will be placed in each area during set hours, and residents are asked to leave bulk waste at the curb for collection. The program aims to reduce health risks and infestations caused by accumulated debris.

Both initiatives are part of the city's effort to improve public sanitation and avoid pest‑related problems.
