Chihuahua seniors gain food aid and new community centers for active aging

Senator Mario Vázquez visited the Villa colonia and the Club del Abuelo “Genaro Vázquez”, where he distributed food assistance to families and older adults. He highlighted the need to protect families from organized crime and promised continued outreach throughout the state.

The state’s Secretary of Human Development, Rafa Loera, promoted the Casas de los Abuelos program, which now operates four senior centers in Chihuahua City and additional sites in Cuauhtémoc, Juárez and Hidalgo del Parral. The centers provide activities such as yoga, zumba, workshops in crafts, cooking, and social spaces for games and technology training, aiming to improve the quality of life for older residents.
