Chihuahua Mayor Marco Bonilla Announces Budget Boost, Embraer Plant Integration and Urban Development Actions

Mayor Marco Bonilla reported that the municipal participatory budget will grow by 30% to roughly 370 million pesos, supporting projects such as street paving, school improvements, community centre expansions and park upgrades. He also condemned recent vandalism at the state palace during protests over a water‑coordination agreement with Israel.

The municipal government carried out 200 inspections, issuing 11 administrative notices and closing ten establishments for licensing and safety violations. In a separate initiative, the city partnered with Grupo Bimbo and local agencies to plant 150 native trees around the North Integrated Development Center, aiming to improve air quality and provide shade.

The municipal syndicate, led by Síndica Olivia Franco, urged developers Impulsa and MAPERJ to complete pending green‑space and equipment works in the Bosques de San Pedro and Quinta San Carlo subdivisions. Finally, the inauguration of Embraer México’s plant highlighted Chihuahua’s role in the global aerospace supply chain, with the mayor noting that each aircraft now carries components manufactured locally, creating thousands of jobs.
