Latin American educational initiatives focus on infrastructure and supplies

Various regional educational and social initiatives are being implemented across Latin America. In the Dominican Republic, Cementos Progreso Dominicana distributed school kits to approximately 2,500 children in surrounding communities for the 2026-2027 school year. The company also partnered with the “Cuadernos por un Mañana” program to collect and reuse notebooks.

In Mexico, Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz announced the expansion of school infrastructure in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez. The project includes the construction of four classrooms, a sanitary module, and staircases at the “Prof. Marcelino Pérez Oropeza” and “Gregorio A. Tello” secondary schools to provide safer and more adequate learning spaces.

In Paraguay, the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) is promoting Literacy Week 2026. The initiative includes lectures on neuroplasticity in adult education, workshops on education within correctional facilities, and public activities like “La Plaza Lee” to encourage reading and writing across the citizenry.
