Chihuahua, Mexico expands rural support with water‑infrastructure grants and subsidized machine‑hour service

The Chihuahua State Secretariat of Rural Development (SDR) announced a call for water‑infrastructure support aimed at individuals, legal entities, ejidos, collective legal persons and municipalities that are linked to the rural sector. The program offers incentives of up to 25 % of the total investment, or up to 50 % for projects without complementary financing, and up to 100 % when financed through the National Technification Plan. Eligible projects include water‑efficiency measures, aquaculture, aquaponics and fisheries infrastructure. Applications are accepted at the SDR office in Chihuahua city during business hours.

The municipal government of Chihuahua city, through its Rural Development Directorate, has also launched a subsidized "machine‑hour" service for residents of the city's rural zone. The program provides access to equipment such as motor graders, tractors and other specialized machinery for activities like plowing, private road rehabilitation, harvest operations, fire‑break clearing and other agricultural or infrastructure tasks. Interested producers can apply at the Directorate’s infrastructure office, with service hours listed for weekdays.
