Chihuahua Mounted Police celebrates 34 years of service

The Mounted Police, also known as Grupo Charly, of the Chihuahua Municipal Public Security Directorate is celebrating 34 years of service. The unit utilizes equine pairs to patrol difficult terrains where vehicles cannot easily access, such as hillsides, streams, riverbanks, and wooded areas.

Despite the integration of modern technology like drones and the Escudo Chihuahua Platform, the mounted unit remains operationally relevant for preventive patrols, mass event support, and searching for missing persons. The unit also serves as a community link, fostering trust through local tradition. The horses receive continuous care at stables located in Acueducto Park, including veterinary supervision and specialized facilities.
