Chihuahua municipal government launches June waste‑collection and participatory‑budgeting programs

The Chihuahua city government announced the "Destilichadero" program, scheduled for June 8–13, to collect oversized waste that cannot be handled by regular garbage trucks. Six neighborhoods – Atenas, Riberas de Sacramento, Granjas, Alianza Popular, Villas del Rey and Quinta Versalles – will receive fixed collection points and mobile crews that will pick up large items left at the curb.

In parallel, the municipal administration is holding participatory‑budgeting information forums from June 8–12 across districts 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18. The sessions aim to guide residents on submitting project proposals for community improvements in areas such as environment, public safety, infrastructure, recreation and education, as part of the 2027 budget planning process.
