Chihuahua State Congress Holds Final Disability Consultation Forum in Ciudad Juárez
The State Congress of Chihuahua, through its Commission on Human Rights and Vulnerable Groups, convened the final “Proceso de Participación, Consulta Estrecha y Colaboración Activa de Personas con Discapacidad 2026” in Ciudad Juárez. Deputies Herminia Gómez Carrasco, Elizabeth Guzmán Argueta and Leticia Ortega Máynez highlighted that the contributions of persons with disability, their families and organisations will feed more than 40 legislative initiatives on inclusion, health, education, accessibility and justice.
The forum, also held in Chihuahua, Camargo, Cuauhtémoc and Parral, collected testimonies and proposals aimed at strengthening laws that guarantee equal opportunities and improve quality of life for people with disabilities. Officials from the municipal government affirmed their commitment to translate the gathered input into concrete policies.
The event marks the culmination of a statewide consultative process intended to shape future disability‑rights legislation in Mexico.
