Chihuahua Municipality concludes Grandparents and Youth Month activities

The Chihuahua Municipal Government, through its Directorate of Human Development and Education, concluded a month-long series of activities held in August to celebrate Grandparents Month, Youth Month, and indigenous communities. The program aimed to foster social inclusion, intergenerational coexistence, and cultural recognition.

Key events included the ‘Reina de Reinas’ contest, which honored elderly women for their charisma and experience. Other activities featured a Megazumbatón, a bazaar for people with disabilities and indigenous peoples, a sensory tunnel, and a recipe contest titled ‘Con sabor a Chihuahua’. The initiative also provided educational opportunities for youth, such as photography, English conversation, and first aid courses.

Participation was significant, with over 2,500 people attending the Grandparents, Tradition, and Youth Week, and daily attendance of more than 2,500 people for activities directed toward indigenous peoples.
