FICOSEC funds $13.9 million project for child sexual assault victims in Chihuahua

The Fundación FICOSEC (FICOSEC) has launched the “Colores del alma” project, allocating a total of 13,972,761 Mexican pesos to provide psychotherapy and preventive education to children and adolescents who are victims of sexual crimes in the state of Chihuahua. The initiative, running from April 2024 through March 2027, targets the municipalities of Chihuahua, Delicias, Cuauhtémoc and Parral, aiming to reach 6,000 minors and train at least 450 teachers in detection and prevention techniques. Over 270 investigation files have been opened in the region, and the program will also channel cases to the GuardianNA center for specialized support. Funding is split between 1,997,927 pesos for the state capital from FICOSEC and 66,300 pesos contributed by the nonprofit Mujer Custodia de los Valores y de la Sociedad I.A.S.P.
