Law enforcement operations across Latin America target criminal networks
Security forces in several Latin American countries conducted major operations against organized crime on November 5, 2026. In Ecuador, Operation Zeus 4 involved over 350 police officers and 22 prosecutors in 25 simultaneous raids across six provinces. The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 alleged members of a Los Lobos faction, which is linked to 60 homicides and an annual bank flow of approximately 5 million USD.
In Mexico, authorities carried out multiple actions. In Veracruz, the Navy arrested an individual known as “Panda,” allegedly a regional leader involved in kidnapping, extortion, and fuel theft. In Colima, officials discovered three clandestine connections to a Pemex pipeline in Manzanillo, leading to four arrests. Additionally, in Michoacán, the State Attorney General's Office arrested three people and seized a long firearm, ammunition, and narcotics during raids in Morelia.
In Honduras, a judge ordered the judicial detention of 20 individuals allegedly linked to the “Cártel del Diablo” in the Yoro department, facing charges of terrorist association. Meanwhile, in Argentina, federal authorities processed Pablo Daniel Macalopu Cafferata, known as “Roger,” for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and a triple homicide in Florencio Varela.
