The Chihuahua municipal government, led by Mayor Marco Bonilla, has implemented several initiatives to improve services in rural communities. Key investments include over 1.5 million pesos for four new school buses, benefiting more than 1,200 people, and over 451,000 pesos for school infrastructure improvements such as classrooms, bathrooms, and sports areas.

Health services have been expanded through the Municipal Institute for Prevention and Health Care (IMPAS), which provided 1,713 free medical and dental consultations to nearly 1,000 residents in areas like El Sauz and Ciénega de Ortiz. Additionally, the municipality strengthened emergency response capabilities with three new units, including an ambulance donated by Rancho County, Colorado.

Other regional developments include the announcement of the Chihuahua State International Festival (FICH) and the New Art Festival (FAN) for 2026, featuring over 100 local artists. Furthermore, the city received recognition at the Fourth Latin American Summit for Sport and Development for its efforts in promoting physical activity and social inclusion.
