Chihuahua pushes business growth with new economic center and event sector dialogue

More than 200 members of the Agrupación Gustavo Quezada met with state official César Jáuregui Moreno in Chihuahua to discuss the main challenges facing event‑venue businesses, including land‑use issues, permits and the need for clearer legal certainty. Jáuregui, drawing on his experience as former city and state secretary, pledged to provide stable rules that will help the roughly 37,000 local companies that generate jobs, and promised continued dialogue with the sector.

The city also launched a public tender to construct a five‑level Economic Development Center in the Expo Chihuahua area. The new building will bring together major business chambers such as Canacintra, Coparmex and the municipal Development Economic agency under one roof, improving operational efficiency. Construction is expected to start this year, last about a year, and will replace existing parking spaces with a future vertical garage.
