Chihuahua road projects to cause traffic delays as new overpasses near completion

Municipal and state authorities in Chihuahua, Mexico, are advancing grade‑separated road works that will affect traffic on two major corridors. On Juan Pablo II Boulevard, a new overpass is slated to begin construction within two months and last about seven months, creating temporary lane closures and requiring detour signage, according to acting mayor Héctor Ortiz Orpinel and public works director Daniel González García. The project will include a bridge that allows traffic to bypass a signalized intersection with Valle del Sol.

Meanwhile, the Los Nogales‑Industrias overpass is in its final construction phase, with crews installing road markings, lighting poles, sidewalks and finishing touches. The work aims to improve mobility and safety for thousands of daily motorists. Officials are urging residents to obey temporary traffic signs, reduce speed and stay cautious around the work zones.
