Chihuahua security forces face exam failures as homicide rate remains very high
A recent federal report showed that 6% of state public security agents (SSPE) in Chihuahua failed their control and confidence examinations, the highest failure rate among the four groups assessed. The failures involved both the state security corps and personnel assigned to penitentiary centers, totaling 206 individuals.
Separately, homicide data released by México Evalúa indicated that the state’s intentional homicide rate of 14.4 per 100,000 residents between January and May is classified as "very high" by OECD standards and "high" when compared with Latin American countries, placing Chihuahua among the most violent jurisdictions in the region.
