Chihuahua sees higher police trust and surge in financial complaints
The state police of Chihuahua reported a citizen confidence level of 62.3%, above the national average, during a public safety meeting led by Governor Maru Campos. Officials highlighted recent arrests of 82 individuals for various offenses, the seizure of over 6,000 vape devices valued at more than 1.9 million pesos, and a 42‑year prison sentence for the femicide of a three‑month‑old baby.
In the same period, the financial consumer‑protection agency CONDUSEF recorded more than 5,300 complaints from Chihuahua residents, an 8.9% rise from the previous year. The majority of claims involved multiple‑bank institutions, with issues such as unrecognized electronic transfers and internet purchases accounting for over a third of the cases. Women filed 46.9% of the complaints, and about 30% related to potential fraud.
