Chihuahua State announces 2026 Vanguardia in Arts and Sciences winners

The Chihuahua State Government, through its Secretariat of Culture, has announced the winners of the 2026 Chihuahua Vanguardia in Arts and Sciences Award. Each winner receives a stimulus of 100,000 pesos for their projects across various disciplines.

Key winners include Margarita López Lozoya in Social Sciences for her study on the N’nee Apache Chiricahua community, and Abimael Guzmán Pando in Technological Sciences for an AI-driven clinical decision platform for fetal risk evaluation. Other recipients include Mario Ángel Chacón Rodríguez (Performing Arts/Music), Edin Hinojosa Delgado (Visual Arts/Graphics), Erik Lerma Montes (Music/Composition), Alejandra Velarde Jazmín Rodríguez Castillo (Biological Sciences), and Ana Cecilia Casas Cortázar (Literature). The Journalism category was declared vacant.

Now in its 45th edition, the award is the state's most significant distinction for recognizing outstanding work by artists, scientists, and academics.
