Chihuahua State Congress approves November 2 holiday

The Chihuahua State Congress has approved a decree establishing November 2 as a non-working day for state public administration employees. The measure aims to allow workers to participate in cultural and family activities associated with the Day of the Dead, such as visiting cemeteries and creating altars.

The initiative, presented by the Labor and Social Welfare Commission, also includes a proposal to urge the Federal Congress to amend Article 74 of the Federal Labor Law. This amendment would seek to recognize November 2 as a mandatory day of rest throughout Mexico, noting the significant cultural importance and the economic impact of tourism during this period.
