Chihuahua State Congress launches 2026 Parliament of Women

The United Commissions of Femicide and Substantive Equality of the Chihuahua State Congress have launched the call for the 2026 Parliament of Women in Ciudad Juárez. This initiative serves as a platform for citizen participation aimed at strengthening women's voices and generating legislative proposals to promote equality and eradicate violence.

Deputy Jael Argüelles, president of the United Commissions, emphasized that while women have gained significant rights and spaces for participation, these advancements must be continuously defended to ensure girls and women can fully exercise their rights. The event seeks to create a safe and inclusive space for women from all backgrounds—including students, workers, heads of families, indigenous women, and women with disabilities—to contribute to the country's legislative future.

To participate, applicants must be residents of the state of Chihuahua, be at least 18 years old, and present a legislative proposal.
