Chihuahua State Congress leads Mexico in transparency rankings

The Chihuahua State Congress has achieved the highest national ranking in legislative transparency, according to the 2026 Evaluation of Local Congresses in Transparency by the CIMTRA collective. With a score of 93.8 percent, the 68th Legislature placed in the ‘Very High’ category, significantly exceeding the national average of 43.4 percent.

Separately, Deputy Carla Rivas of the Jurisdictional Commission noted that the legislature has not yet received formal requests regarding corruption cases involving judges. Although the Chihuahua Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reportedly has 14 files involving judges, the commission has not been contacted to initiate proceedings to analyze the constitutional immunity of the officials involved.
