Chihuahua State Congress marks 200 years of Legislative Library

The Chihuahua State Congress held a commemorative event on September 28 to mark the 200th anniversary of the Carlos Montemayor Aceves Legislative Library and the 202nd anniversary of the installation of the state's legislative power.

Congress President Joceline Vega Vargas emphasized the ongoing responsibility to represent the citizens of Chihuahua and to foster decision-making through dialogue. The event included a historical reenactment titled ‘From the Provincial Deputation to the Constituent Congress’ and a series of lectures. Speakers included Pablo Frías Reyes, who discussed the origins and evolution of democracy in Chihuahua, and Rubén Beltrán Acosta, who spoke regarding the municipal historical archives. The celebration also featured an exhibition of the library's collection and a traditional anniversary cake cutting.
