Chihuahua state equips six municipalities with police uniforms, quads and patrol vehicles

The government of the Mexican state of Chihuahua allocated more than 10 million pesos to provide municipal police forces in six Sierra municipalities – Batopilas, Chínipas, Guachochi, Guazapares, Morelos and Urique – with new equipment. The delivery in Guachochi included 353 complete uniforms, 22 four‑wheeled motorbikes and eight patrol cars, part of a broader plan that will benefit 40 municipalities with a total investment exceeding 88 million pesos from public‑security funds.

Governor María Eugenia Campos said the resources are meant to improve response capacity, citizen confidence and protection for residents, adding, "Today we fight against governments of death that make deals with criminals, displace people, steal indigenous land and flood communities with toxic drugs." The state security secretary highlighted crime reductions since the Sub‑center Centinela began operating in Guachochi, reporting a 50 % drop in house robberies, a 60 % decline in business thefts, a 69 % fall in homicides and the elimination of violent livestock theft.

Local officials, including Guachochi mayor José Miguel Yáñez, thanked the governor, noting the new gear allows faster, more efficient protection of the community.
