Chihuahua state government shuts down 22 alcohol venues after 339 inspections

During the week of 1 – 7 June 2026, the Subsecretaría de Gobernación in the Mexican state of Chihuahua carried out 339 inspections of businesses that sell or serve alcoholic drinks. The inspections led to the closure of 22 establishments for a range of violations, including operating without a permit, exceeding capacity, serving minors, working outside authorized hours, and failing to renew licensing documentation.

The closures were distributed across several municipalities: six venues in Chihuahua city, three in Aquiles Serdán, two in Delicias, one each in Meoqui and Cuauhtémoc, and nine in Ciudad Juárez. The action reflects the state’s enforcement of alcohol licensing rules and aims to curb illegal or unsafe alcohol sales.
