Chihuahua state rolls out waste‑management and food‑aid programs

The Chihuahua state government launched two coordinated initiatives in June. The Secretariat of Urban Development and Ecology (SDUE), together with the Autonomous University of Chihuahua and several municipalities, began a Solid Waste Management and Integral Urban Waste Program. The effort targets cities such as Cuauhtémoc, Hidalgo del Parral, Delicias, Nuevo Casas Grandes and Juárez, aiming to train officials, promote recycling, reuse and circular‑economy practices, and strengthen institutional coordination.

Separately, the Secretariat of Human Development and Common Good (SDHyBC) opened registration for the NutriChihuahua food‑assistance program. The scheme provides basic‑basket items to vulnerable adults over 60 and people with permanent disabilities living in poverty. Document collection began across dozens of municipalities, including Aldama, Juárez, Delicias, and many others, and will continue throughout June. Both programs are intended to support sustainable development and improve living conditions for Chihuahua’s residents.
