Chihuahua's AI Industry Expansion Boosts Manufacturing and Education

Chihuahua and Jalisco are emerging as key hubs for AI‑powered computer manufacturing in Mexico. The state of Chihuahua, which supplies half of the computer equipment and components used in U.S. AI data centers, hosts more than 700 export companies, including Foxconn, Flex and Quanta Computer. Export value from the region reached roughly US$36 billion, with a 65 % rise in global transactions, while Jalisco accounts for 25 % of exported AI components and supports over 600 firms in its Electronics Cluster.

In parallel, the technical school Conalep in Chihuahua has launched a Professional Technical Bachiller program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The curriculum, part of the Conalep IA 2030 strategy led by director Omar Bazán Flores, equips students with skills in machine learning, robotics, IoT, cybersecurity and cloud computing. New labs and high‑performance computers have been installed at the Chihuahua II and Juárez III campuses to support hands‑on training, aiming to supply the growing demand for AI‑qualified talent in the region’s advanced manufacturing sector.
