CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE launches in Hong Kong with themed exhibits, transport and McDonald's tie‑ins
The CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE exhibition opened at K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong on 1 August and runs through 6 September. The show features four themed zones, more than 130 original illustrations by artist Nagano, and a world‑first giant CHIIKAWA carousel. Limited‑edition merchandise, including exclusive Octopus‑card items, is sold to ticket‑holders.
As part of the promotion, Hong Kong’s Light Rail runs a CHIIKAWA‑themed service on weekends from 25 July to 30 August, with character‑styled handrails and night‑glow graphics. The Star Ferrys also operate a CHIIKAWA‑decorated route from 28 July to 27 September, offering passengers collectible stamps and limited‑edition postcards.
McDonald’s joined the campaign, releasing a special “CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE” menu and four exclusive lucky‑charm talismans featuring the characters Chiikawa, Rabbit, Sea‑Otter Master and an ancient bookshop figure. Customers who order designated combo meals via the McDonald’s app receive a random charm while supplies last. Two pop‑up McDonald’s “CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE” themed stores opened in Kowloon Bay and Causeway Bay, each with photo‑friendly installations.
The coordinated effort involves partners such as UNIQLO, Giordano, Snapio and local retail venues, creating a city‑wide celebration of the CHIIKAWA brand during the summer holiday season.
