Chiikawa Baby Castella to open second location in Kyoto

The takeout shop Chiikawa Baby Castella will open its second location at Nishiki Market in Kyoto on November 18. This marks the brand's first expansion into the Kansai region, following its initial store opening in Otaru, Hokkaido.

The shop will offer character-shaped baby castella, soft-serve ice cream topped with castella, and various seasonal items such as ice candy. Customers can purchase 10-piece sets starting at 700 yen, which include random character designs and an original sasumata pick.

Exclusive merchandise will also be available, including mascot sets and plushies that cannot be purchased online. Due to expected high demand and the narrow, crowded nature of Nishiki Market, the store will operate under a strict reservation and rotation system from its opening until January 3, 2027. Reservations will be managed via the Chiikawa Mogumogu Honpo LINE official account through a lottery system starting in November.
