Chișinău educators address rising complexity of school inclusion
The integration of children with learning difficulties and disabilities into mainstream schools is becoming increasingly complex, requiring specialized training and support for educators. Elena Gîndea, a support teacher at the Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra High School in Chișinău, has worked in the field of school inclusion since 2014.
At her institution, the number and diversity of cases have grown significantly. Currently, there are 23 students with official psycho-pedagogical evaluation reports representing various special educational needs. This includes seven students with severe disabilities, three with pronounced disabilities, and one with a medium disability. Gîndea emphasizes that working with these students requires continuous professional development and staying informed about global educational practices to address evolving classroom realities.
