Chișinău Mayor Ion Ceban seeks traffic solutions and continues duties after injury

Chișinău Mayor Ion Ceban has called on the central government to implement permanent traffic management measures similar to those used during official foreign delegation visits. Ceban emphasized the need for better cooperation between the City Hall, the Government, and the Traffic Police to address congestion, particularly following the start of the new school year.

Ceban criticized the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), accusing them of prioritizing political interests over the needs of capital residents. He urged the new government leadership to set aside political disputes and focus on practical solutions for the city's infrastructure and mobility problems.

Separately, Ceban appeared at a municipal services meeting following a recent accident during a family vacation that required leg surgery. While he is currently unable to walk and will manage much of his work online for the next three months, he stated he intends to use a wheelchair to inspect municipal construction sites. He noted that this period will allow him to view urban accessibility and mobility from the perspective of people with reduced mobility, the elderly, and parents with small children.
