Chilco Ranch-Miller Ranches receives national environmental stewardship award

The Miller and Grier families of Chilco Ranch-Miller Ranches, located west of Williams Lake in Hanceville, have been awarded the 2026 Environmental Stewardship Award by the Canadian Cattle Association (CCA).

As the national recipient of the award, the fourth-generation ranching operation was selected from six regional nominees across Canada. The award, which has been presented annually since 1996, recognizes producers who exceed standard industry conservation practices.

The CCA highlighted the ranch for its integration of traditional knowledge with modern technology, specifically noting their achievements in grazing management, water stewardship, and wildlife habitat commitment.
