Child dies after falling into irrigation canal in Van

A 4-year-old boy, identified as Deniz Asaf Paçin, died after falling into an irrigation canal near the Muradiye Waterfall in the Van province of Turkey. The child's family had traveled from Iğdır to the Kandahar neighborhood in the Muradiye district for a picnic.

After the child went missing while playing, local citizens and family members conducted a search, eventually discovering him in the canal. Emergency services provided initial medical intervention at the scene before transporting him to Muradiye State Hospital. He was later transferred to the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

The child's body has been sent to the Van Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, and a judicial investigation into the incident is ongoing.
