Child dies in swimming pool drowning in Naviraí

A 5-year-old boy died after drowning in a swimming pool during a birthday party in Naviraí, Mato Grosso do Sul. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at a venue on Avenida Caarapó.

According to police reports, the child was left in a room watching cartoons on a mobile phone while adults were nearby at a billiard table. Approximately 15 minutes later, the mother discovered the child was missing and subsequently found him unconscious at the bottom of the pool. Despite being rushed to the Naviraí Municipal Hospital and undergoing 45 minutes of resuscitation attempts, the child could not be saved.

The Military Police and Fire Department attended the scene, and the case has been referred to the 1st Civil Police Station in Naviraí to investigate the circumstances of the death.
